Special Rate Variation Approval
Consultation has concluded
Council has been advised by the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) that its Special Rate Variation Application has been approved.
During extensive community consultation, residents have told us which assets were the most important to them.
A $82 million works program has been prepared which will include borrowing costs as well as:
$ 24 million on improving sealed roads
$ 16.5 million on sealing gravel roads
$ 13 million on revitalising town centres and public spaces
$ 7 million in upgrading community buildings
$ 9 million on enhancing parks, river foreshores and sport and recreational facilities
$ 4 million on building new pathways.
Including the Special Rate Variation, there will be an average increase in rates of $107 in the first year. Over the next two years, 2019-2020, and 2020-2021, there will be a rate increase each year.
