Council is updating Plans of Management for parks and reserves in the Hawkesbury as a result of the legislation changes to the Crown Land Management Act 2016.
Most parks and reserves will be covered under a generic Plan of Management. This means that one plan will cover multiple reserves and will address broad objectives and management actions.
Some parks will be covered by site specific Plans of Management where there are complex management issues that need to be addressed or where heritage or environmental significance have been identified. Further information about particular site-specific plans of management can be found on Council’s Your Hawkesbury Your Say consultation page, under individual project banners. Parks that will be covered by site specific plans include: McQuade Park, Windsor; Macquarie Park, Freemans Reach; McMahons Park, Kurrajong; and Yarramundi Reserve, Yarramundi.
Developing Plans of Management does not represent a formal commitment to funding. The plans will be guiding documents; their main purpose is to consider and allow for appropriate usage and to prioritise potential capital works projects to further the recreational opportunities of the site whilst ensuring all values are protected.
