South Windsor Park Landscape Masterplan

February 2025 update

Following the feedback received from the community and the Hawkesbury City Netball Association, we have made some minor tweaks to the Landscape Masterplan for South Windsor Park and developed a concept plan for the new multipurpose building. This building concept plan was developed to provide reassurance that the future building footprint allowed in the landscape masterplan can accommodate the needs of the netball association and the Sports Council as a shared use facility. These plans will be presented to Council at the meeting on 11 March 2025 for formal adoption.

At this stage, there is no funding committed for the upgrade of South Windsor Park. These plans are a planning tool that we use to identify funding needs and inform the development of Capital Works plans. Once adopted, the concept plans will be essential to support any future applications for external funding that may become available from time to time.

Hawkesbury City Council is preparing a Landscape Masterplan for South Windsor Park, also known as the Mileham Street Netball Complex, South Windsor. This plan provides a long-term vision for the park which will improve the general amenity and facilitate greater community use and enjoyment of the park.

Community consultation is a vital part of the planning process and your feedback on the draft concept design is sought.

Some of the opportunities that have been identified include:

  • Create accessible path connections and clear entries to key zones across the park.
  • Create a loop track with exercise stations.
  • Create new activities within the park including facilities for youth, multi-use courts, play spaces and learn to ride area.
  • Upgrade and rationalise the parking.
  • Manage stormwater runoff, soften the landscape and increase tree canopy to create cool pockets with shade and seating.
  • Upgrade and rationalise the netball courts (pavement and lighting)
  • Rationalise the buildings on site into a new combined sporting and amenity building that is centrally located and accessible to all.

Development of this landscape masterplan does not represent a formal commitment to funding. This concept plan is a guiding document, its main purpose is to consider potential future usage of the site and to inform future capital works budgets. Full development of the park will not be completed in the short to medium term.

    A concept landscape masterplan has been prepared for South Windsor Park, South Windsor, to provide a long-term vision for future development of the park.  Community consultation is a vital part of the planning process and your contribution is welcomed.  Please take a few minutes to provide feedback.
