‘Street Speak’ an Urban Art Project

Expressions of Interest from Community Groups and Organisations that support young people in the Hawkesbury LGA to participate in ‘Street Speak.’

Hawkesbury City Council is currently seeking Expressions of Interest from Community Organisations and Community Groups in the Hawkesbury that support young people to participate in ‘Street Speak’, an Urban Art Project that aims to provide a platform for young people to creatively express their vision and connections to the Hawkesbury through art.

Council is calling for submissions of Mural Designs 900x600mm (canvas to be provided by Council). All art submitted which complies with the entry guidelines, will be publicly displayed in various locations around the Hawkesbury LGA. Mural submissions for the competition must be suitably appropriate for public exhibition.

To be eligible, Community Organisations and Community Groups must hold an ABN.

Must operate services for young people aged 12-24 years in the Hawkesbury and can demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Planning and implementing activities with young people.
• Enhance public space and deter graffiti, through urban art or other diversion projects.
• Has delivered programs that explore themes relating to youth in the Hawkesbury.
• Must agree to the terms and conditions and include a signed entry form with their submission.

Council strongly encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and groups to apply.

5 Winning finalists from the Public Vote will receive $5000 for their associated organization and the opportunity to work with a professional street artist on a large-scale mural project in the Hawkesbury. T & C Apply.

The Street Speak Urban Art Project is funded under The Graffiti Management Grant (Western Sydney).
